Abergavenny Leisure Centre will remain shut for the majority of today, August 4, to allow necessary maintenance work to be completed.
The facility will not reopen until 3:30 this afternoon. It shut its doors at 10pm last night, August 3.
A representative from Abergavenny Leisure Centre stated that due to essential works taking place on the premises, the centre would close at 10pm that evening and stay shut until 3:30pm the following day. The representative added that although there had been an intention to keep the venue operational during the work, further evaluation revealed that a temporary shutdown was now essential to maintain the safety of both visitors and employees.
No swimming facilities will be on offer during the closure period, though they will resume in time for scheduled Swimming Lessons.
TMG sessions will relocate to King Henry VIII Primary School, where a member of the team will be present to welcome attendees.
The representative further noted that those with TMG bookings for the following day should attend the primary school site where staff would be waiting. Swimming activities would remain unavailable until the centre reopened, but would be restored ahead of Swimming Lessons. The representative expressed regret for any disruption caused and thanked the public for their patience and cooperation.
