National Car Parks (NCP) has revealed that more than 20 of its parking facilities across England and Wales will shut permanently on Friday March 27, with at least one located in South Wales.
The company disclosed last week that it had gone into administration following difficulties adjusting to challenging trading conditions, with up to 682 positions potentially affected throughout the United Kingdom.
Established in 1931 and controlled by the Japanese corporation Park24, the business operates approximately 340 parking sites across Britain, including multiple locations throughout South Wales.
The country’s largest private parking operator has entered administration after almost a century in business.
NCP has now notified property owners and staff members that 22 parking sites have been deemed unviable to continue operating and will close permanently on Friday.
Among the sites facing permanent closure is the facility on Dumfries Place in Cardiff.

The remaining 318 NCP facilities will continue operating.
An NCP representative stated that on Monday March 16 2026, Zelf Hussain, Rachael Wilkinson and Toby Banfield from PwC were appointed as Joint Administrators of National Car Parks Limited.
Following an early evaluation of business activities, the joint administrators have identified 22 locations that are financially unviable and will therefore cease operations for customers from 11:59pm on March 27.
Unfortunately, due to the closure of these locations, 33 staff members will lose their positions on March 31.
They will receive assistance through the statutory redundancy payments procedure.
The other 318 parking facilities continue trading and no additional sites have been earmarked for closure at this stage.
