Two individuals required hospital treatment following a vehicle collision in the vicinity of Bettws Lane in Newport.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the area close to Bettws Lane in Newport at approximately 3pm.

Gwent Police indicated that emergency services were summoned to a road traffic incident between The Castell y Bwch Cwmbran and the junction of Bettws Lanes Newport.

The surrounding region experienced significant delays as police redirected vehicles away from the location.

Gwent Police subsequently verified that two individuals received hospital care.

They confirmed that a report of a road traffic collision between The Castell y Bwch Cwmbran and the junction of Bettws Lanes Newport was received at approximately 2.30pm on Wednesday 25 March.

Police units arrived at the location alongside personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident involved two cars, with both vehicle operators conveyed to hospital for medical treatment.

The road continues to experience substantial traffic.
