Traffic is moving slowly on the A4042 in a northerly direction between B4236 Caerleon Road at the County Hall Roundabout and the A472 at Pontypool Roundabout, with a six-minute backlog that is growing.

Drivers are averaging around 15 miles per hour in this stretch.

Considerable hold-ups are being reported from the A4051 through to the A4042 and on to the A472.

A six-minute backlog is also building on the A4042 heading north between Tre-Herbert Road at the Crematorium Roundabout and the A472 at Pontypool Roundabout.

The typical speed in this section is approximately ten miles per hour.
