Thousands of children have participated in a large-scale treasure hunt across the city.
Over 2,300 members of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers, with participants from Minchinhampton among them, joined the Girlguiding Cityscapes Adventure in Cardiff on March 21 and 22. The gathering was part of a broader UK-wide initiative.
A group from the 1st Minchinhampton Guides expressed their enthusiasm, stating that the occasion was wonderful. They particularly enjoyed the stop motion animation workshop held at the ODEON cinema and the rock-climbing wall, which they found both entertaining and demanding. The group added that it had been an excellent day and they would certainly participate again.
Cityscapes Cardiff offered a variety of interactive experiences covering sports, creative crafts, scientific activities, inspirational women, and entertainment.
Participants earned points by finishing challenges and identifying notable city features.
Using the Goosechase application, visitors climbed rankings by competing in real-time to accomplish as many tasks as they could.
The gathering also included involvement from emergency services and uniformed organisations, including South Wales Police, the Royal Navy and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Artistic sessions, scientific demonstrations and athletic pursuits were staged at prominent locations throughout the city.
The Girlguiding Cityscapes Adventure forms part of the organisation’s continuous schedule of events designed for girls between four and 18 years old.
