A charity trek connecting two hospice sites is scheduled for Saturday, May 23.
The Hospice to Hospice Walk, backed by Convey Law, will commence in Ystrad Mynach and finish at Newport Day Hospice, with walkers gathering at Newport Day Hospice at 8am.
Participants can choose between two routes: 16 miles or 7 miles, with registration costs beginning at £10. All money collected will support St David’s Hospice.
This leisurely stroll, which is not competitive, will guide walkers through Sirhowy Country Park, the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal near Crosskeys, and various scenic spots such as Risca, Rogerstone, and 14 Locks, before ending at Newport Day Hospice in Malpas.
Organisers are inviting participants to adopt a Think Pink theme in their attire to demonstrate backing for individuals impacted by breast cancer.
Suggested garments include vivid pink shirts, coloured hosiery, tutus, or pink-themed accessories.
Groups may wish to plan matching ensembles.
Buses will be laid on for walkers, enabling them to drive to the endpoint in Newport and leave their vehicles there.
The registration charge covers travel from Newport back to Ystrad Mynach along with drinks and snacks: £10 for grown-ups, £5 for youngsters, and £25 for families.
Additional purchases feature a medal at £3, or a shirt paired with a medal for £10.
