A 21-year-old man has been convicted of harassing a woman and making threats to damage her property in Cwmbran last year.

Newport Magistrates’ Court heard the case against Morgan Smith, who allegedly targeted the victim during the autumn period.

The offences occurred between September 4 and October 27, with Smith denying all charges at the time.

Following a trial, he was found guilty of harassment and threats to destroy property.

Smith, from Marl Court in Thornhill, Cwmbran, was sentenced to pay a total of £1,060 covering fines, costs, compensation and a surcharge.

A restraining order lasting three years was also granted, prohibiting any contact with the victim.
