Organizers report that the 2026 Aspiration Digital conference held in Cardiff has substantially boosted pupils’ assurance when considering occupations within the technology sector.
More than 200 learners from across South Wales attended the gathering, which produced a 73 percent uplift in optimism about digital industry career options.
The programme was developed alongside Cardiff Metropolitan University with backing from Liberty Marketing Group, The Army, and ACT Training.
Becky Simms, founder and chief executive at Reflect Digital, explained that the event aimed to ignite pupils’ interest and demonstrate the attractive employment opportunities available within the digital sector, an area often overlooked in standard school curricula.
Attendees’ confidence measurements rose from an average of 4.81 to 8.31 out of 10 after participating in the conference.
Gareth Morgan, founder of The Liberty Marketing Group, noted that cultivating additional digital expertise throughout Wales holds significant importance, which is why his organisation readily agreed to partner on the initiative when approached.
Vicki Gittens from ACT Training observed that as a leading training provider operating within Wales, her organisation regularly sees how vital digital skills have become and the many rewarding professional paths such abilities can unlock for students.
Cardiff was chosen given its standing as a hub for creative and digital sectors.
