The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service will supply eight fire engines to Fire Aid, with the Welsh Government backing this effort.
The appliances will be sent to Ukraine as part of an upcoming UK convoy.
Martin Ward-White, assistant chief fire officer at South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said the service appreciated that Welsh Government colleagues could help with their most recent vehicle donation to Fire Aid, and that this assistance would be directed back into the service.
Since 2022, eight relief convoys have made the journey from the United Kingdom to Ukraine, with more than 119 vehicles supplied altogether by British fire and rescue services.
These operational vehicles are being provided to Ukrainian partners through the current vehicle renewal programme, where they will continue actively serving their communities.
Fire Aid operates as a charitable organisation dedicated to supplying fire and rescue equipment and training to nations experiencing significant difficulties.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has been contributing fire appliances to Fire Aid since 2018, working alongside the National Fire Chiefs Council.
The upcoming contribution is scheduled to arrive during the first six months of 2026.
Jayne Bryant, cabinet secretary for housing and local government, said it was excellent that Wales could again provide Ukrainian firefighters with these essential resources.
These vehicles will make a genuine and substantial impact for Ukrainian firefighters who continue carrying out extremely hazardous operations to save lives and protect neighbourhoods.
This contribution follows the Service’s earlier donations and demonstrates Wales standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
