A defendant has entered pleas of not guilty to allegations including controlling behavior and a serious physical attack on a woman.
Michael Perry, aged 30, from Davies Square, Newport, denied charges of controlling or coercive conduct within a personal relationship, malicious wounding with intent, actual bodily harm, and harassment.
The offenses allegedly occurred between January 1, 2019 and March 16 of this year.
Proceedings are scheduled to commence on September 9, with the trial anticipated to run for three days.
The accused remained in custody following his appearance before Judge Paul Hobson at Cardiff Crown Court.
