Malpas Cricket Club has achieved a major milestone by forming its very first women’s hardball team.

The path to this success began with winter softball cricket sessions.

These games created a supportive environment where players were able to develop their skills and grow in confidence.

As more women showed interest and their talents grew, the team began organised training and progressively transitioned to the harder ball used in senior cricket.

With guidance from coaches, volunteers, and the broader club membership, the latest recruits gained the expertise needed to compete in league fixtures, resulting in the creation of Malpas Cricket Club’s inaugural women’s hardball XI.

This marks a noteworthy accomplishment for Malpas Cricket Club, which traces its origins back to 1909, as it moves forward while honouring its proud heritage.

The new hardball outfit reflects the club’s commitment to widening access, nurturing talent, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
