Magistrates’ court case outcomes from recent sessions.

Paul Gardner, who lives at Capel Crescent in Newport, faced a combined financial penalty of £1,030 for driving or keeping a motor vehicle without proper off-road notification.

Rebecca Beachus, aged 30 and residing on Hargreaves Drive in Newport, was directed to pay £319 after acknowledging responsibility for operating a motor vehicle on a public road without valid insurance protection. Six penalty points were applied to her driving record.

John William O’Connor, 47 years old and based at Bryncelyn Estate in Blaina, was ordered to pay £220 in fines alongside £85 in court costs and £71.67 in back duty for using a vehicle displaying a valid licence.

Martyn Jones, 56, whose address is Albert Avenue in Newport, must pay £176 comprising a financial penalty, costs and a surcharge after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle outside the terms of his licence. Six penalty points were recorded against his driving record.

Natalie Preece, 39, of Alderman Close in Blackwood, received a financial penalty of £176 including a fine, costs and a surcharge following an admission of travelling above the speed limit in a 30mph area. Three penalty points were endorsed on her licence.

Mark Walsh, from Undy close to Caldicot, was issued a £440 financial penalty together with £85 in costs and £81.25 in back duty for operating an uninsured vehicle.

Mairwen James, 49, of Hengoed Road in Hengoed within Caerphilly county, was directed to pay £281 covering a financial penalty, costs and a surcharge after admitting to exceeding the speed limit in a 20mph area. Three penalty points were added to her driving record.

Paul Thomas, 60, whose address is Waenllapria in Llanelly Hill, Monmouthshire, must pay £719 consisting of a financial penalty, costs and a surcharge after admitting to speeding in a 20mph zone. Six penalty points were recorded on his licence.

Michael David Herbert, 47, of Llandegfedd Way in New Inn near Pontypool, received a £220 financial penalty along with £85 in costs and £32.50 in back duty for using a vehicle without proper licensing documentation.

Georgel-Mihaita Pintea, 27, of Caldicot Street in Newport, was ordered to pay £220 together with £90 in costs and an £88 surcharge for exceeding the speed limit in a 50mph zone. Three penalty points were endorsed on his driving licence.
