Pupils Encouraged to Submit Poster Ideas for Premier Bike Event

Students have a chance to design artwork for one of cycling’s biggest events and achieve global exposure through a new competition.

The chosen artwork will become the visual identity for the 2027 Grand Départs of both the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift when the events begin in the UK.

Those eligible include students studying art, design, graphics, creative subjects, and photography at further and higher education institutions within the local authority areas that will accommodate the six stages across England, Scotland and Wales.

Grand Départ GB is managing the project through its JOY social impact programme, which marks the first activity within its Arts & Culture section.

Tracy Power from the JOY programme stated that this offers two talented students an outstanding opportunity to showcase their creative skills internationally and become permanently associated with this historic Grand Départ. She added that the competition fits with JOY’s aim to have a central involvement in the 2027 Grand Départ, and they look forward to seeing the creative entries from participants.

A panel chaired by award-winning artist Lucy Pittaway will assess all submissions.

The Grand Départ GB 2027 committee will then forward the finalists’ work to Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), which will select the final winning designs.

These will be announced during the official route presentation set for October in Paris.

The winning students will have their designs shared worldwide, along with receiving an invitation to the Paris unveiling and hospitality access at one of next year’s British stages.

The competition opens on Monday, May 4 and closes at 5pm on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Further details and submission requirements are available on the Le Tour GB website.
