Passengers are being warned of significant delays on Transport for Wales routes this morning, with most services along the Newport to Ebbw Vale Town line set to be axed. Continue reading for the most recent information.

Transport for Wales has indicated that the problems are anticipated to continue until 10pm tonight.

The issue stems from an above-average number of trains requiring simultaneous maintenance work.

REFRESH: Because of an elevated volume of trains undergoing simultaneous repairs between Newport and Ebbw Vale Town, services could be withdrawn in both directions. Travel disruptions are forecasted to persist until 10pm.

Every direct service connecting Newport and Ebbw Vale Town, which stops at multiple stations including Pye Corner, Rogerstone, Risca & Pontymister, Crosskeys, Newbridge and Llanhilleth, has been pulled.

According to Trainline, alternative routes through Cardiff are available, though these add considerably to journey times, with travel durations now estimated at around one and a half hours.
