Welsh youth talent may feature in big West End production

Aspiring young artists are being sought to try out for a large-scale theatrical production in the Welsh capital region.

As many as 200 non-professional performers, ranging from eight to 25 years old, will be chosen to take part in the arena-style show Bring It On as part of the Beyond Broadway Experience, scheduled for Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14 at the Swansea Building Society Arena.

The selected performers will collaborate with seasoned industry professionals, among them Andrew Simeon, who launched his own performing arts education in Swansea.

Mr Simeon stated that chances for emerging artists to participate in productions of this magnitude and standard are extremely uncommon.

He added that the abilities displayed by young people in South Wales consistently impress him.

Sarah Jane Price, who handled casting duties for the West End version of Bring It On, will sit on the selection panel.

The tryouts will be conducted in person at Brangwyn Hall on Sunday, May 3.

Preparation sessions will take place in Swansea commencing Sunday, August 2 and continuing until Wednesday, August 12.
