Cardiff Airport has become an official partner for the 2026 Cardiff Half Marathon.
The airport will collaborate with the endurance event, connecting its worldwide network with the race’s goal of raising Cardiff’s profile on the global stage and promoting the city internationally.
Matt Newman, chief executive at event organiser Run 4 Wales, stated that they were thrilled to have Cardiff Airport join as an official partner and that the airport aligned with their vision of presenting the city to the world.
The collaboration is anticipated to enhance the event’s international standing, with the airport providing 39 direct European routes plus a new transatlantic link through WestJet’s Cardiff-Toronto flights.
As a component of the SuperHalfs series, the Cardiff Half Marathon already draws an increasing quantity of participants from overseas.
Jon Bridge, chief executive of Cardiff Airport, expressed pride in the partnership, noting it was a significant event for Wales that generated substantial excitement and attention for Cardiff annually, and that they were pleased to help accommodate runners and supporters from throughout the UK and internationally.
The upcoming Cardiff Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026.
