Crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service continue to respond to multiple blazes across the Gwent region as prolonged hot and arid conditions place significant strain on emergency responders.
Firefighters are actively fighting flames at several locations including Pentre Tai Farm in Rhiwderin, Cwmavon Woods near Blaenavon, Rudry Common close to Caerphilly and Wattsville Mountain in the Newport area.

Rail services between Bargoed and Rhymney have been suspended following a fire that ignited beside the railway line.

Six residences suffered serious damage or were completely destroyed following Tuesday’s significant blaze at Pantside in Newbridge.
