Teenagers across the region are marking an impressive summer of achievement as they collect their advanced level qualifications.

Throughout Gwent, pupils have attained excellent marks and confirmed spots at leading universities, apprenticeship schemes and jobs.

At the further education institution, 98.3 percent of advanced level candidates obtained grades spanning from the top mark down to an E grade, while 1,114 vocational learners succeeded in their chosen disciplines across eleven different areas of study.

The head of the college remarked that the day marking the release of Level 3 outcomes represents one of the most significant occasions in the calendar, providing a moment to recognise the remarkable accomplishments of all learners at this stage. She noted that students have developed self-assurance, identified their talents and moved forward toward promising next steps with backing from committed staff members. On behalf of the entire college, she extended warm congratulations to every pupil collecting their results and expressed best wishes for their future paths.

Among those who performed exceptionally well were several learners who obtained the highest possible marks and will now pursue degree programmes at institutions throughout Britain.

One pupil is set to undertake medical studies at Queens Belfast.

A school in Newport achieved its strongest performance on record, with a third of all grades at the top A* level, over 60 percent reaching A* or A grades, and more than four-fifths attaining A* or B grades.

Three pupils are preparing to begin courses at the country’s most prestigious universities, studying medicine, history and French, as well as Spanish and Portuguese.

The local authority also offered its congratulations to young people throughout the area.

The council leader stated that the day marks considerable pride for learners, parents and educational communities countywide. She explained that receiving examination outcomes represents a meaningful checkpoint and an opportunity to consider the dedication and perseverance that has brought young people to this juncture. Whether students are advancing to higher education, continued study, vocational training, work or alternative pathways, the authority takes great pride in their accomplishments and hopes they thrive moving forward.

She also expressed gratitude to educators, school employees, parents and families for their assistance throughout the academic year.
