Cosy Club is preparing to launch its newest Welsh branch this autumn.

The restaurant chain will open its Swansea location in November, occupying the ground floor of the Grade II-protected Exchange Buildings in the Maritime Quarter.

This will be the third Cosy Club outlet in Wales, alongside established sites in Cardiff Central and Cardiff Bay.

Lucy Knowles, the managing director of Cosy Club, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the brand to Swansea. She noted the significance of the venue to the city and mentioned that the design team had worked carefully to respect the building’s heritage while updating the interiors with Cosy Club’s characteristic glamorous style. She added that the aim was to develop something truly distinctive for Swansea.

The structure, originally designed by architect Charles T. Ruthen in 1913, is being converted into what has been described as a fabulously glamorous space for dining, cocktails, and evening entertainment.

The interior design will draw inspiration from cinema, featuring custom-made patterned fabrics, mirrors, striking light fixtures, and plush soft furnishings intended to create a sense of special occasion.

Beyond its historical function as Exchange Chambers, the property previously housed Pandora’s nightclub, which was popularly referred to locally as Dirty Dora’s.

The basement venue was a fixture of South Wales’s night-time entertainment scene, attracting rock enthusiasts, university students, and working professionals before Wind Street emerged as the city’s primary hub for nightlife.

Cosy Club Swansea intends to restore the building’s reputation as a destination venue.

Ms Knowles stated that from morning until night, the establishment would offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner menus alongside cocktails. She said the team was eager to welcome guests in the autumn and contribute to making the building a prominent talking point in the city once more.

The food and drink offerings will feature popular Cosy Club dishes, contemporary classics, cocktails, and a selection of gluten-free and vegan choices.
