Greentop Markets teamed up with Rodney Parade to stage a community open day on July 5.

Gareth O’Sullivan, Managing Director at Greentop Markets, commented that the event drew large crowds throughout the day, with a fantastic atmosphere, sunny weather, positive vibes among attendees, and successful trading for vendors.

The new entertainment complex branded as ‘The Venue’ is scheduled to launch next month.

A new entertainment area at Rodney Parade will be operated by Greentop Markets, featuring live performances, culinary offerings, and spaces for community activities.

The facility is intended to serve as a meeting point for spectators attending events, accommodating fans of both Newport County football club and the Dragons rugby union side.

O’Sullivan noted the team is thrilled about the project and expects it to become a valuable addition to the city.

The management hopes the venue will be operational by early August.

It will additionally function as a community resource, accessible to community interest companies, local groups, and organisations seeking to utilise the facilities.

Greentop Markets intends to maintain its collaboration with Rodney Parade on upcoming events.

The roadmap for 2027 features a fresh schedule of musical performances and entertainment designed to position Rodney Parade as a premier destination venue.
