Two cars lacking insurance coverage have been confiscated in separate incidents in Newport and Ebbw Vale.
Newport police pulled over a Vauxhall Astra after checks showed the vehicle had no insurance protection. The motorist was handed a traffic violation notice covering three offences: operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without proper licensing, and using a car without a current MOT certificate.
In Ebbw Vale, officers intercepted a Peugeot that had been exceeding the speed limit, which turned out to be uninsured. According to a police representative, both cars were taken into custody to eliminate potential dangers to other road users. The Ebbw Vale motorist was issued with a traffic offence notice for the single charge of driving an uninsured vehicle.
