A police helicopter was scrambled after reports of a suspected stolen vehicle in Cwmbran on the evening of August 2.
Officers from Gwent Police conducted searches of the locality following sightings of a car that was allegedly taken.
The operation received assistance from the National Police Air Service.
A Gwent Police representative stated that personnel, aided by the National Police Air Service, were conducting searches after a reportedly stolen vehicle was observed in the area. No individuals were apprehended and investigations continue.
An NPAS representative reported that at 21:31 on Sunday 2 August 2026, an NPAS St Athan helicopter crew was sent to the Cwmbran region to conduct a search on behalf of Gwent Police. The mission involved 41 minutes of flight time.
Gwent Police confirmed that no arrests have been made and investigations remain active.
