Drivers are being notified that the M4 in the westbound direction is seeing heavy traffic volumes this morning. Further updates will follow.

Delays are currently building up between Junction 28 Tredegar Park and Junction 26 Malpas.

Currently, delays of three minutes and increasing are being recorded between J28 Tredegar Park and J26 Malpas Road. Traffic is moving at approximately 20mph.

The M4 westbound lane continues to experience considerable congestion between J28 Tredegar Park and J26 Malpas Road.

Driving speed stays consistent at roughly 20mph.

A delay of two minutes is presently impacting the M4 eastbound carriageway between J27 Highcross and J25A Newport/Cwmbran. Stay tuned for more updates.

Delays continue to increase on the M4 eastbound route between J27 Highcross and J25A Cwmbran/Newport. Cars are presently travelling at 25mph.

Most of the congestion appears to have lessened along the M4 motorway for now, although observation will carry on for the rest of the day.
