A 19-year-old from Newport has acknowledged his involvement in distributing crack cocaine.

Larrell Williams, from Cot Farm Walk in Ringland, entered a guilty plea at Cardiff Crown Court to being concerned in the supply of the class A drug.

The criminal activity took place from January 1 through to July 13.

The defendant entered his plea before the Recorder of Cardiff, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke.

Proceedings were postponed to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared that addresses all possible sentencing outcomes.

Williams received conditional bail ahead of his sentencing, with restrictions put in place to deter any additional offences.

These restrictions comprise a daily curfew with electronic monitoring between 7pm and 7am, along with an obligation to reside and sleep at his Ringland home address each night.

The matter will be heard again at the crown court for sentencing on September 15.
