A man from Newport has acknowledged responsibility for a serious attack on another individual following an incident in the city last year.
Lyndon Taylor, aged 55 and residing in Beaufort Road, attended Newport Magistrates’ Court where he entered a guilty plea to causing grievous bodily harm.
The court was informed that on November 15, 2025, he attacked Robert Preston.
The magistrates awarded the defendant bail without conditions and postponed the matter to allow a pre-sentence report to be compiled, with every possible outcome still under consideration.
Taylor is scheduled to appear again at Newport Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on September 8.
The case was brought by Angharad Jones, while the defendant was represented by defence solicitor Bartosz Piasta.
