Gwent Police have provided additional details as their search continues for a man aged 42 who vanished on Tuesday, August 18.

Darren Smith, 42, was initially spotted in the Commercial Street neighbourhood of Newport at approximately 2.50pm on Tuesday.

Subsequent sightings were recorded on Cambrian Road at around 6am the following morning, Wednesday the 19th.

At the time of his disappearance, he was dressed in a dark grey zip-up hoodie, black trousers and white trainers.

Police believe Mr Smith may have connections to both Shrewsbury and Cardiff.

A Gwent Police representative confirmed that after Darren was last seen on Commercial Road, Newport, he was later observed on CCTV at the Tesco store on Cambrian Road, Newport at approximately 6am on Wednesday 19 August.

When last seen, Darren was wearing a dark grey zip-up hoodie, black trousers and white trainers.
