A group of Welsh personalities are lending their support to an initiative demanding improved assistance and safer environments for LGBTQ+ teenagers.

Olympic rugby champion Meg Jones MBE and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK performer Catrin Feelings are among 30 LGBTQ+ figures and supporters featured in a video created for The Proud Trust, a charity working with LGBTQ+ youth.

The video supports the organisation’s drive and includes appearances from prominent names such as Dannii Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, and Dame Kelly Holmes.

Jones, who hails from Ely in Cardiff but competes for England, stated that acceptance provides young people with the self-belief to accomplish remarkable achievements.

She commended The Proud Trust’s efforts, noting that the organisation enables LGBTQ+ young people to have faith in themselves and feel a sense of belonging, and expressed her honour at supporting the campaign.

Feelings, the stage name of Ellis Lloyd Jones from Treorchy, took part in the seventh series of the BBC reality competition in 2025.

She expressed that being authentic should never require courage.

Feelings also emphasised the significance of the initiative, stating that The Proud Trust assists LGBTQ+ young people in discovering self-assurance, community, and acceptance, and that she feels tremendous pride in supporting the campaign, as every young person warrants recognition for who they truly are.

The campaign draws attention to the ongoing difficulties encountered by LGBTQ+ young people, including harassment and mental health difficulties.

The Proud Trust offers assistance through youth groups, one-to-one guidance, family services, and educational initiatives.

The video seeks to increase understanding and spread a message of belonging and empowerment for LGBTQ+ young people.
