Work is underway on a new sports and health facility in Caerphilly county borough, representing a significant investment in community wellness and physical activity.

The Caerphilly Leisure and Wellbeing Hub, situated in Caerphilly, is scheduled to welcome visitors from March 2027 and will provide contemporary facilities suitable for swimming, athletic activities, exercise, and rejuvenation.

Members of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s cabinet committee toured the construction site to assess advancement and gain insight into the building work.

Cabinet member for leisure, Councillor Chris Morgan, stated that seeing the construction progress and how the new complex is materialising was wonderful. He noted that this represents a substantial investment in the health and wellness of local communities and expressed anticipation for the opening in March 2027.

The centre forms part of the council’s ten-year Sport and Active Recreation Strategy running from 2019 to 2029, underpinning its dedication to establishing contemporary facilities that enable residents to maintain active and healthy lifestyles.

During the tour, cabinet members observed recent construction updates throughout the structure and its interior areas, which have been planned to accommodate individuals across all age groups and capability levels.

The scheme remains on schedule with construction advancing smoothly, as activities proceed across the entire development area.

The forthcoming centre will advance the council’s broader objective of fostering healthier living throughout the borough.
