The Ridgeway Bar & Restaurant
Residents throughout Newport have been wondering whether the recently reopened Ridgeway establishment is now offering meals, and local sources confirm this is indeed the case – with dining available both inside the venue and at the bar. With current conditions ideal for outdoor eating, this represents an excellent chance to enjoy a plate in their much-loved beer garden.
The establishment provides a comprehensive food selection, ranging from traditional pub favourites such as mixed grills and lasagne, through to burgers, halloumi sticks and nachos.
Meal service operates from midday until 8pm Monday through Thursday, midday until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sunday lunches are served from noon until 5pm.
The Ridgeway will also host its regular pub quiz this coming Sunday, August 16 – additional information is being shared via their social media channels.
Ridgeway Social Group
The Ridgeway Social Group’s Coffee Club gathered recently at Morris’ Garden Centre in Usk, where they were pleased to greet a new attendee who resides in London but frequently travels to Newport and hoped to find companionship in the area. When a member of staff was asked to take a photograph, they ended up joining in and posed for a selfie with the group.
The subsequent gathering is scheduled for Friday, August 21, and should conditions remain favourable, the agenda is expected to include a dog walk combined with a picnic.
RSG does not waste any time in making arrangements, and their Christmas celebration has already been organised – every place was claimed within just two days, leaving a queue of interested parties on a waiting list.
Following the highly popular Bastille Day gathering at The Lamb in Newport, members decided their next themed evening would be a Victorian Christmas at the same venue. Everyone intends to don appropriate nineteenth-century attire to complement the establishment’s elegant lounge furnishings, with several entertainment pieces also being prepared.
A number of members have expressed interest in attending a disco in a Cardiff suburb, the complimentary Choir in the Park occasion scheduled for the evening of Friday, August 14, a refreshing swim in Clevedon’s tidal lagoon followed by seaside fish and chips or beverages, and numerous bookings have been made for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar being staged in Cardiff next year.
Those searching for a social circle with diverse hobbies and a relaxed attitude towards participation can locate RSG across Facebook and Instagram platforms.
