St Martin’s marks continued A-level success
St Martin’s School Sixth Form Centre in Caerphilly is marking another year of impressive A-level results.
The institution, which provides over 20 academic and vocational Level 3 qualifications to approximately 150 learners, reported that a fifth of grades achieved the top A* to A standard, 64 percent were A to C, and 94 percent fell within A* to E. The school indicated that 96 percent of learners met the Level 3 requirement of two A-level passes, while every student obtained the grades necessary to proceed to their selected university courses, apprenticeships or employment placements.
Headteacher Mr Jarvis stated that the Sixth Form students had again shown outstanding dedication and maturity. Their achievements reflected not only their own efforts but also the individualised assistance and excellent teaching delivered by the committed staff.
Coleg Gwent marks achievements on results day
Coleg Gwent reports that 98.3 percent of its A-level students obtained grades from A* to E as learners across its five campuses collected their results.
The college reported that 1,114 BTEC students also achieved a pass grade or above across 11 vocational subject areas.
Among those celebrating was Chase Campbell, from Crosskeys, who attained A*AB and has gained a place to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics with a foundation year at Oxford University.
The college’s AS pass rate stood at 87.5 percent, with 585 learners receiving AS or A2-level results. At A2 level, pass rates were 88.91 percent at Crosskeys, 90.25 percent at Blaenau Gwent Learning Zone and 85.06 percent at Torfaen Learning Zone.
Haberdashers’ Monmouth School learners celebrate A-level success with leading university places
Learners at Haberdashers’ Monmouth School are celebrating an impressive set of A-level results after gaining places at some of the nation’s most esteemed universities and pursuing a variety of future career directions.
The school reported that 42 percent of grades achieved were A* to A, while 71 percent were graded A* to B, demonstrating another successful year for the Sixth Form cohort.
Among the highest performers were several learners who obtained four A* grades. Carys E achieved top marks in Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics, while Tom G gained four As in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics and will study Physics at Imperial College London. Fay R achieved four As in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Further Mathematics and has secured a place to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
The results continue the school’s tradition of strong performance in science, mathematics and engineering subjects. Weronika S achieved four As and will study Physics at Durham University, while Kopano M gained three As and an A before taking a gap year. Other students have secured places on competitive courses including Medicine, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy and Agriculture.
Success was also apparent across humanities and modern languages. Orla E achieved an A* in Russian and As in French and History and will study French at the University of Oxford. Other students are progressing to courses including Modern Languages and Economics, Theology and Religion, and Classical subjects.
Creative and performing arts students also performed exceptionally. Claire C will study Music at the University of Bristol, while others have secured places on degree programmes in Games Development, Creative Writing, Film Production and related creative disciplines.
Headteacher Melvyn Roffe praised the students’ achievements, noting both their academic results and the breadth of destinations and aspirations represented within the year group.
Jodie Knight, Director of Sixth Form, stated that the results demonstrated students’ commitment and determination and showed the effectiveness of the school’s Futures Programme, which helps prepare pupils for university, apprenticeships and professional careers.
Learners will now progress to universities, specialist institutions and apprenticeships across the UK and internationally.
Chepstow Sixth Form Learners Celebrate Exceptional Success and Fresh Starts
Learners at Chepstow School are celebrating another outstanding year of effort and achievement as they receive their A Level and AS results today. The results demonstrate the dedication, determination and aspiration of Chepstow School’s Sixth Form students, who have excelled across a range of academic and vocational subjects.
Learners have secured progression routes into higher education, apprenticeships, employment and further training, with many obtaining and surpassing the results required to take the next steps towards their selected careers.
Staff, governors and families joined students in celebrating their achievements, acknowledging the hard work and commitment that have contributed to today’s success.
Among the many achievements were Kate Oxenham and Corinne Jones, who collectively secured an impressive six A*/A grades and will both progress to study Medicine at Cardiff University.
Success in Languages and the Arts continued, with Cerys Warburton achieving one A* and three As and securing a place to study Modern Languages at Manchester University. Poppy Coleman celebrated three A grades and will pursue a degree in Film at the University of South Wales, while Bruno Chitnis, who achieved an A*, two As and a B, will progress to a degree in English and Modern Languages at Bristol University.

Rougemont Pupils Achieve Highest A Level Results in South East Wales Once More
Learners at Rougemont Sixth Form are celebrating the highest A Level results in South East Wales, once again.
One in three of all grades achieved were A* grades, with A*-B grades at a record high of 84 percent.
These remarkable results reflect the hard work, dedication, ambition and shared purpose, not only from our learners but also from our teachers and parents.
Head of Rougemont, Mrs Lisa Pritchard stated that achieving the best results in the region is not merely a moment of celebration but a marker of what Rougemont represents. It demonstrates that our values truly are lived realities. This morning’s results prove that when a community commits to learning, young people thrive. We celebrate all their successes and all their pathways. Congratulations to our Class of 2026.

From Oxbridge to Degree Apprenticeships and Gap Years exploring the world, our Class of 2026 will be embarking on a wide variety of exciting pathways, unique and right for them.
Three learners now head to Oxford and Cambridge, studying Medicine; History and French; Spanish and Portuguese, with more embarking on Degree Apprenticeships with ARUP, Safran and Network75, with one learner achieving a place at commercial flight school. 90 percent of learners obtained places at their first-choice university studying an array of subjects like Palaeontology, Musical Theatre, Medicine, Law, International Business and Marine Biology, to name but a few.
Particular recognition must go to our elite athletes Theodora (GB Swimming and Commonwealth 2026 bronze medallist), Bronwen (GB Cycling), Ollie (GB BMX), Albie (Wales Triathlon), Jack (British Sailing) and Megan and Amelie (Glamorgan Cricket) and Oscar (Welsh Athletics) who have achieved outstanding results this year alongside their sporting commitments, demonstrating Rougemont’s flexible curriculum for our young sporting stars.

The NAHT issues congratulations
Speaking as learners in Wales received their A Level and vocational qualification results, Paul Whiteman, general secretary of school leaders’ union NAHT, stated that congratulations were extended to all learners receiving their results today. This is a moment to recognise and celebrate the hard work, resilience and achievement of learners receiving their qualifications. It is also a moment to acknowledge the dedication of teachers, leaders and support staff who have worked tirelessly to teach and guide them along the way.
Whether learners are progressing to university, apprenticeships, further education, training or employment, the union wishes them every success in the next stage of their journey. Today’s outcomes are an important achievement, but they are just one step on many different paths to future success.
As these learners take their next steps, it is essential that those coming next have access to a post-16 education system that offers genuine choice and opportunity.
That means protecting a broad and flexible qualifications landscape that values academic, vocational and technical learning equally, ensuring young people can combine different qualifications to follow the right pathway for them, that best reflects their strengths, ambitions and individual learning needs.
The union also must ensure no learner is left behind by maintaining a wide range of funded qualifications, including at Level 2 and below, and protecting progression routes, particularly for disadvantaged learners, learners with SEND, young carers and others whose educational journeys may not follow a straightforward or traditional route.
Finally, schools and colleges need the resources to offer exciting and appealing opportunities regardless of where learners live. Young people’s access to courses, training and industry placements should not depend on their postcode. Every learner deserves the support and opportunities they need to fulfil their potential.
