August 19 deadline set to request Grosmont Community Council election

Published on

A cut-off date has been established for submitting a request to hold an election to fill a vacancy on Grosmont Community Council.

For a ballot to take place, no fewer than 10 eligible voters must lodge their request with Paul Matthews, who holds the positions of chief executive at Monmouthshire County Council and returning officer.

The final day for such requests is Wednesday, 19 August.

Should the necessary number of requests not be achieved, existing councillors will have the authority to designate a replacement member through co-option. This voluntary body represents views on local affairs, handles planning submissions, allocates funding to community organisations and oversees a community centre.
