Those behind the initiative are appealing for fresh educational experiences to motivate grown-ups to appreciate what learning can offer during the annual awareness period.

Workshops, sessions and cost-free training programmes are wanted to back the event, which spans Wales, including the Gwent area, from September 21st to 27th and throughout the following month.

The drive, carrying the tagline Never Stop Learning, is managed by the Learning and Work Institute working alongside the Welsh Government and seeks to highlight how valuable ongoing education is throughout life.

Additional backing comes from The Open University in Wales and the National Centre for Learning Welsh.

Michelle Matheron, who leads the Wales division at the Learning and Work Institute, stated that the free and open-to-all week offers a moment to encourage adults to begin their educational journey, recognise what learners have accomplished and help local options become more visible.

She expressed hope that educational institutions and groups of all kinds would join in this year and present openings for adults to uncover what learning can offer them.

A gathering held during the week could be the catalyst that enables someone to reconnect with the pleasure of acquiring knowledge or gives them the assurance to attempt something unfamiliar.

Adults are being urged to investigate fresh hobbies, strengthen their abilities, enhance their health, or obtain advice about financial support and professional directions.

Those coordinating the week aim to reach adults who might encounter obstacles to learning and could benefit from additional motivation to take part.

One of the week’s key moments will be the Inspire! Adult Learning Awards ceremony, scheduled for the Coal Exchange in Cardiff on September 23rd.
