Reform UK Wales has urged the Wales Green Party leader to separate himself from an Instagram post.
The post was published by Green Party leader Zack Polanski on Instagram and featured an image of a t-shirt appearing to advocate for the beheading of Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
Dan Thomas, who leads Reform UK Wales and represents Casnewydd Islwyn in the Senedd, has sent a letter to Anthony Slaughter, the head of the Wales Green Party, requesting that he either denounce or disassociate himself from Mr Polanski’s behaviour.
Mr Thomas stated that political rhetoric which glorifies, promotes, or makes light of violence directed at opponents has no place in society.
He added that whatever one’s opinion of Nigel Farage may be, distributing an image that appears to demand his execution is entirely unacceptable.
Mr Thomas stressed the importance of conducting politics in a civil and respectful manner, even during heated discussions.
He contended that individuals in the public eye bear a responsibility to model appropriate conduct and contribute to improving the quality of political dialogue.
