A driver has been excluded from the roads after confessing to a serious speeding violation.
The individual, Alfie Sanderson Jones, aged 22 and residing at North Road in Newbridge, was recorded by mobile speed monitoring devices while traveling at 53mph in an area where the limit was 30mph. The incident occurred on Crumlin Road in Pontypool.
Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court was informed that the breach took place on February 10 while the defendant was operating a Vauxhall Corsa.
The individual received a driving prohibition lasting 28 days.
Jones was directed to pay £550, comprising a £300 penalty along with £130 in legal fees and a £120 additional charge.
