A man aged 48 from Swansea has attended court facing allegations linked to commercial break-ins in Newport.
Luke Griffin, residing in Hafod, Swansea, was taken into custody and faces five burglary charges and four theft charges following a police inquiry into commercial property intrusions throughout the city.
The offences occurred at business premises situated on Commercial Street, Orb Drive, Newport Retail Park, and Mendalgief Retail Park.
Griffin attended Newport Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 6.
He was held in detention.
Gwent Police have highlighted their collaboration with partner agencies and the local community to maintain safety in retail areas.
Griffin will stay in custody ahead of his upcoming court appearance.
The accusations have yet to be established.
He continues to maintain the right to a fair hearing.
