Venue under new management to host community gatherings in Cwmbran

A change in pub management typically brings a transition period as employees and loyal customers adjust to what amounts to a considerable alteration to their regular habits.

This particular week, the Pub of the Week selection has navigated such a change successfully and continues to thrive.

The Greenhouse establishment in Llantarnam, Cwmbran, has operated as a popular destination for numerous years, earning a reputation as a pet-welcoming venue connected to the Marston’s brewery group. When the previous long-serving managers left in January, the chance arose for Stephen, an industry veteran from the hospitality field, to assume control and steer the business toward new achievements.

The location has since experienced renewed vigour and drawn increased local participation through its broadened schedule of events.

A classic pub quiz takes place each Wednesday alongside bingo sessions on Mondays, although these have been combined into a bingo style quiz format. Attendees answer questions and mark their solutions on bingo cards, with the first to finish a line or full house claimed as the winner, moving away from pure knowledge-based competition.

With summer and bank holidays approaching, the venue has started utilizing its extensive outdoor space to host family-oriented gatherings and live music performances, weather permitting, thereby greeting both existing customers and newcomers.

The beer garden provides generous seating options, a play area for children, and a sizable hidden lawn section.

Manager Stephen told the Argus that the establishment captures a true public house ambience alongside a strong sense of neighbourhood, serving the whole local community.

In addition to Marston’s extensive food and drink selection, another element guarantees return visits: the personnel. The staff members are notably warm and approachable, with Stephen observing that they truly put in effort with every guest. The brief conversations that occur when pulling a pint of real ale clearly show that the workers genuinely care about their patrons and their situations.

As weather conditions warm and the idea of savouring a cold drink in an outstanding beer garden becomes increasingly attractive, The Greenhouse seems positioned to receive further guests at this noteworthy location situated conveniently close by.
