Court cases heard at magistrates court recently.

Leanne James, aged 42 and living in Redland Street, Newport, was sentenced to pay £197 in fines, costs and surcharge after pleading guilty to stealing ham worth £15 from Lidl, causing a breach of the peace and possessing amphetamine on December 22 last year.

Nicola Lansdown, 36, from Bessemer Drive, Newport was fined £1,054 including costs and surcharge for failing to give police the identifying details of a vehicle driver when asked. Six penalty points were also applied to her driving licence.

Amos Dixon, aged 21 and residing at Cripps Avenue in Cefn Golau, Tredegar received a fine of £1,044 which included costs and surcharge for driving a motor vehicle on a road or public place without valid insurance. Six penalty points were endorsed on his licence.

Mohammed Raza, 32, of Ludlow Close, Newport was ordered to pay £736 in total for driving a motor vehicle on a road where the glass permitted insufficient light transmission.

Ben Stickland, living at Forsythia Close in Risca, was fined £408 including costs and surcharge for keeping a motor vehicle that was not covered by proper insurance.

Matthew Ross, of Bryn Pica in Tredegar, was penalised £408 for possessing a motor vehicle that did not meet insurance requirements.

Christopher Wells, aged 48 and living at Yew Tree Terrace in Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran admitted to driving at excessive speed in a 20mph zone and was fined £308 with costs and surcharge. Three penalty points were added to his licence.

Chanelle Morgan, aged 36, from Risca Road, Cross Keys, Caerphilly was disqualified from driving for six months for failing to identify a vehicle driver when required. She was also fined £660 plus a £254 surcharge.

Linda Hamilton, of Duffryn Terrace in Elliots Town, New Tredegar, Caerphilly was ordered to pay £408 in fines, costs and surcharge for keeping a motor vehicle without valid insurance.
