Crews deployed to lorry collision on road in Newport

An emergency operation took place in Newport on April 30th along a key route near the Transporter Bridge. The Southern Distributor Road hosted an incident involving a goods vehicle. Emergency services attended to one individual.

Several emergency services deployed to the scene, with no fewer than two fire engines, two police cars and an ambulance unit responding.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said they received notification of a collision on East Dock Road in Newport at around 5:15pm on Thursday, April 30th. Officers from the force attended alongside teams from the Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. The incident involved a truck and a car; nevertheless, no serious injuries were reported.
