A creative education centre in Newport is providing budget-friendly workshops for grown-ups looking to hone their artistic abilities.
The studio, situated close to Newport Cathedral, is managed by Shirley Griffiths, a practising artist and instructor boasting over three decades of expertise.
The establishment creates a secure and friendly environment centred on neighbourhood and enjoyment, accommodating upwards of 120 learners per semester.
Ms Griffiths established the venue in 2015 following 17 years working in community-based education.
Since that time, the centre has developed an excellent standing for its high-standard programmes and welcoming approach.
All sessions, encompassing instruction in oil techniques, watercolour work, combined materials, depictions of animals and people, figure sketching, and contemplative art, are delivered by Ms Griffiths alongside assistant tutor Kate Evans.
Both educators possess impressive credentials, holding undergraduate degrees in Fine Art and postgraduate teaching qualifications, while Ms Griffiths additionally secured the top accolade at last year’s Crickhowell Open Art Exhibition.
The centre also welcomes visiting specialists and stages an annual showcase.
Course durations range from five, ten and fifteen-week modules tailored to the discipline and season, with summer and autumn programmes currently open for enrollment.
Further details are available via the centre’s internet platform.
The studio, which incorporates an art materials outlet, maintains affordable pricing as the institution prioritises openness and availability.
Premium resources supplied at the venue form part of the course fee.
