Nominations are being sought to recognise exceptional achievements by women working in agriculture across Wales.

NFU Cymru has confirmed the launch of the Wales Woman Farmer of the Year Award for 2026, with support from NFU Mutual.

The initiative is now in its 28th year and seeks to highlight and acknowledge the significant role played by women in Wales farming sector.

Paul Williams, deputy president of NFU Cymru and a member of this year’s judging panel, stated that the award exists to showcase the contributions women make to farming enterprises and broader rural communities.

He added that throughout the years this distinguished honour has been presented, recipients have come from diverse sectors and regions within the farming industry, and the organisation anticipates receiving entries for the 2026 accolade.

The 2026 recipient will be awarded £500 along with a Welsh Royal Crystal bowl.

The presentation ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 23 at the Royal Welsh Show.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 29, 2026.

Those wishing to apply can do so via the NFU Cymru website or by getting in touch with the NFU Cymru office.

Nomination forms may be obtained by telephoning 01982 554200 or by sending an email to nfu.cymru@nfu.org.uk.
