Firefighters Discover Body After Responding to Blaze Call

A probe has been initiated following the discovery of a man’s body inside a residence.

Emergency services responded to reports of a blaze at a location on Main Street in Barry, arriving at approximately 9.05am this morning (May 2).

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service personnel and ambulance crews also made their way to the scene.

The male occupant was pronounced dead at the address.

His next of kin has been notified.

A joint investigation is now being conducted by South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

South Wales Police officers have indicated that Main Street will stay closed for some time as investigative work continues.
