Newport venue gears up for comic clash during Bank Holiday weekend

Published on

A watering hole in Newport is getting ready for a Heroes against Villains themed weekend.

The Maindee Hotel is among ten neighbourhood pubs throughout Wales taking part in the event during the Bank Holiday weekend at the start of May.

Residents are being urged to arrive in fancy dress portraying their beloved characters, ranging from Superman to the Joker, for a contest spanning the entire weekend.

The winning costume will receive a £25 drinks voucher.

To keep the festivities going, the venues will also be rolling out brand new Licor 43 Mini Beer shots, blending Licor 43 with Baileys and served in miniature tankards, which look set to be a major attraction of the weekend.

These new shots will form part of the popular 3 for £6 offer.

The venues involved belong to Proper Pubs, the award-winning community-focused wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, which operates more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The other pubs joining in across Wales comprise Bush Inn in Aberdare, Vale Of Rheidol in Aberystwyth, Goat Hotel in Bala, Griffin Inn in Mold, Y Pentan in Mold, Six Bells in Rhyl, St Georges Hotel in Swansea, Cross Foxes Inn in Wrexham, and Long Pull in Wrexham.
