Ridgeway Community Activities
The Ridgeway Social Group’s culinary adventure series Eating Around the World made a stop in Georgia recently, with members gathering at the Genatsvale establishment in the Welsh capital.
Group coordinator Rory O’Donnell explained that attendance fluctuates between events, but stressed that the gatherings consistently foster friendly atmosphere and engaging discussion.
He noted that the initiative allows participants to discover new culinary traditions, highlighting that Georgian cookery offers an intriguing blend drawing from both Turkish and Eastern European gastronomy.
He encouraged newcomers to participate, mentioning that details of the next culinary exploration would be shared on their social media platform, with Asian cuisine being the probable focus based on member preferences.
The group will reconvene at The Ridgeway establishment on May 19 at 7pm to discuss Noelle Ihli’s novel Ask for Andrea. Membership remains open to those interested in regular monthly gatherings, typically scheduled for the third Tuesday, for book discussions over refreshments.
Brian Taylor leads Senior Circuits fitness sessions twice weekly at the Ridgeway Community Centre, accommodating participants aged 60 and above alongside younger attendees. Each class costs £5 individually or £8 for both sessions, providing an accessible way to improve health and social connections.
The sessions incorporate cardiovascular, strength, and resistance exercises, with movements adapted to individual fitness levels and capabilities. Participants can connect with Brian through social media to start joining these local exercise opportunities.
