Road monitoring systems indicate significant queuing on the M4 motorway in both carriageways throughout the Newport area, especially in the vicinity of the Brynglas tunnels, Tredegar Park and the section heading toward Caerleon and Langstone. Build-ups are also forming on connecting routes such as the SDR and primary approaches into Newport.

Updates on local road conditions will follow.

Substantial hold-ups of 16 minutes are being experienced with queuing getting worse on the M4 westbound carriageway between junction 23A A4810 (Magor Services) and junction 26 A4051 (Malpas Road). Vehicles are travelling at approximately 15 mph.
