A defendant has made an appearance at court facing multiple break-in and stealing charges relating to commercial establishments throughout Newport.
Officers from Gwent Police logged complaints about break-ins at commercial locations along High Street on 17 April, as well as at Clarence Place and Rodney Road on 19 April.
Previously, they had attended calls regarding theft from commercial buildings on High Street dating back to 16 March, Caerleon Road on 25 March, and Pontymister Industrial Estate in Risca on 2 April.
A man aged 35 was subsequently taken into custody on suspicion of three burglary offences and three counts of theft from retail premises.
