Police catch three speeders and issue substantial penalties

The Cwmbran neighbourhood unit of Gwent Police conducted speed monitoring as part of a collaborative initiative.

Working alongside Optometry Wales, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and the GoSafe partnership, officers set up checks along The Highway in Croesyceiliog.

A total of 286 cars passed through the monitoring point, with 22 drivers shown footage highlighting the hazards of travelling above the speed limit.

Three motorists were handed financial penalties for driving at excessive speeds.

A Gwent Police representative confirmed that the operation monitored the speed of 286 vehicles, with 22 individuals shown road safety education and three fines issued for driving at excessive speeds.
