A housing provider has raised more than £12,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
United Welsh launched the fundraising partnership to honour staff member Ros O’Shea, who was diagnosed with MND in March the previous year.
Colleagues organised various fundraising initiatives in recognition of Ms O’Shea and carried them forward following her death in December.
The campaign ultimately amassed £12,885.55.
Kelly O’Shea, Ros’s daughter, said they wished to thank all of Ros’s friends and colleagues at United Welsh for their efforts in raising funds.
Ros was passionate about her work at United Welsh and took pride in belonging to such a respected organisation.
It is heartwarming to see how much she was cherished and appreciated by everyone.
I dream that one day a treatment will be found for this devastating condition.
Staff members took part in numerous fundraising ventures, including firewalking, 13.1-mile races, parkruns, a sponsored aquatics event, having their heads shaved, and selling baked goods at exercise sessions.
A team of firewalkers gathered £1,165 by walking across burning coals.
Richard Shackelford, the association’s relationship fundraiser, said they were tremendously thankful to every United Welsh employee for their passionate involvement during the Charity of the Year partnership.
Securing £12,000 is an outstanding achievement that will truly assist those impacted by MND and their relatives across Wales.
