Plan Your Caerphilly Trip: Weekend Travel Advice

Essential maintenance means a key thoroughfare in Caerphilly will be inaccessible throughout the weekend.

The Lansbury Park Distributor Road will be sealed off from the Mornington Meadows junction through to the junction with Graham Court.

The closure commences at 8am on Friday, May 1, and finishes at 6am on Monday, May 4.

A spokesperson for Caerphilly County Borough Council stated that the authority recognises these works may disrupt daily life and expressed gratitude to local residents, businesses and commuters for their understanding during these essential repairs.

The scheme encompasses remedial work to the road’s concrete base structure, followed by full renewal of the road surface.

These works are required to preserve the long-term safety and structural soundness of the highway.

No vehicles will be permitted to use this section while the closure is in effect.

Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes and plan for additional travel time.

Construction teams will operate continuously throughout the weekend to ensure the road reopens in time for the Monday morning commute.

Residents in the vicinity and local businesses are reminded that noise disturbance will intensify, particularly during the concrete demolition phase of the project.

A diversion will be clearly signposted.
