Pen y Fan Pond Country Park set for parking overhaul

Published on

The parking arrangements at Pen y Fan Pond Country Park are set for modification.

The long-standing deal between Caerphilly County Borough Council and Llanover Estate concerning the upper parking zone comes to an end on April 30, 2026.

Attempts to secure a new lease between the local authority and the estate proved unsuccessful.

Llanover Estate will assume management of the upper car park along with the nearby grassed section.

The council will maintain control of the rest of the site, including the lower parking zone, visitor facilities, the cafe, and the reservoir.

Members of the public will still be able to use the lower car park managed by the council.

New signage will be put up across the park to inform visitors about the altered parking arrangements.

Once the current agreement concludes on April 30, 2026, Llanover Estate will manage the upper car park and adjacent lawn, while Caerphilly County Borough Council will keep running the remaining areas of the park.

The council has stressed its commitment to maintaining the location as an attractive and welcoming space for community members.
