The communications company has deployed its improved 5G+ services in various areas, including Merthyr Tydfil, which now has access to the new technology.

This network marks the company’s most advanced mobile technology so far, offering faster page loading, better quality video calls, and improved gaming performance especially in busy locations and at peak times.

The director responsible for security and network infrastructure at the parent organisation said that this milestone demonstrates how quickly the company is building the country’s most advanced mobile network. The director also stated that by bringing EE’s 5G+ coverage to millions more customers and leading the world in deploying new network solutions, the company is providing more reliable and stronger connections in the places that matter most to users.

The company aims to offer 5G+ coverage to 99 percent of people across the UK by March 2030.

Users of this network are already seeing faster download speeds following the introduction of five-carrier aggregation at 5G+ sites, a UK first.

This improvement allows compatible devices to use five frequency bands at the same time, producing speeds around 10 percent faster in normal conditions and better streaming quality.

The business has pledged £40 billion for improving UK network infrastructure.
